Its sickening to see ppl go into debt and worship there local Mall and what about all the animals that suffered for there feast ,especially pigs ! xmas sucks!
Get off your high horse and get over it--people LIKE to give at Christmas--it's a time of giving, happiness, and yes--a little indulgence it ok too.
I give presents on Christmas because I love the look on people't faces when they receive a gift that I took time to think of them and give them something meaningful. I hate it when people are so grumpy and negative about everything.
^ then why don't you go away and leave the people who hate it for more reasons than the mindless hypocritical consumption of it all to their annoyance, instead of bringing yourself here just to make yourself look like a fool by complaining about people being "so grumpy and negative about everything" - you came here of your own accord *rolls eyes*
what a load of shit, tight, lazy, anal, biggots. Bet you spend loads through out the year on holidays (over priced) clothes, probably labelled and eat out on a regular basis. this campaign is just an excuse to get out of thinking about and making any effort for anyone else. If you believed what you say then you would get organised and buy things throuh out the year in sales etc. Noone said you have to do it all in December. Get over yourselves and get organised. Your campaign is laughable.

I applaud you for your resistance and mindless consumption.
Keep on keeping on!
P.S. The link on the "Letters" page to sfweekly.com has died.
D'oh! I should have previewed my comment. What I wanted to say was:
"I applaud you for your resistance AGAINST mindless consumption."
Keep on Resisting!
This year some more folks I know have joined in the Christmas Resistance :)
