=v= Last night's midnight openings at big box stores have attracted encampments of people with tents who say they represent the 99%. What are their demands? For some reason the authorities haven't sent in riot police as they have elsewhere, so these groups have taken to self-policing, pepper spray included.(Title notwithstanding, this happened at a Wal*Mart, but I thought I'd spread the love around. 'Tis the season!)

It's taken some time to break from the loop, but I think we've finally done it this year.
You are right (and anyone who has their eyes opened will realise) Christmas has become a commodity.
I've seen people go into debt over one day. That is truly sad. Personally I prefer a period of time where family can share time, enjoying food and each others company.

Christmas MUST BE STOPPED! To us non-believers it's most offensive.
Why must we be assaulted with all of this holiday tripe when making a simple trek to a store and be assaulted with that egregious holiday "music" and redolent garnishings that make you want to vomit from the sheer olfactory displeasure that's induced. Yes, christmas STINKS in more ways than one. It MUST BE STOPPED.
My dreams would be that this nation of ours would continue to move forward, abandoning archaic traditions and rituals; the need to influence the ignorant with more science providing rational thought and understanding.
I, and millions of others, will stand our ground; we will do our part to get the real truth spread as long as there are ears open to reason and common sense. The time has come when we must spread our wings and take flight into the 21st century. Reason and rational thought are the key to stripping away all of this worthlessness and trivial, meaningless traditions.
We, as a species, continue to evolve, and as intelligent beings we must apply all the progressive elements in these modern times to seek the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth in the name of science.
